In his lecture, “A Medium Seen Otherwise: Photography and Documentary Film,” Hallas explained how cinematographic strategies with visual images and narration promote a better understanding of photography.
Hallas also led a Brown Bag discussion at 10 a.m. Oct. 30 in the Classroom Office Building 261.
Hallas is author of Reframing Bodies: AIDS, Bearing Witness and the Queer Moving Image, co-editor of The Image and the Witness: Trauma, Memory and Visual Culture and co-director of the Syracuse University Human Rights Film Festival.
