The New African Cinema series is a biannual program of some of the best African films produced on the continent in the last few years. The programmers choose a combination of documentary and fiction films with geographical diversity across the continent in order to give the IU and Bloomington community a sense of the range and qualities of African cinema at the current moment. The series is supported by the Center for Documentary Research and Practice, IU Cinema, the Black Film Center/Archive, and Black Camera.
